Automotive Press Installation
- Vanguard completed the installation and commissioning of a Komatsu
four-in-line stamping plant in Durban. The process required the 196t press
crown to be preassembled, lifted 14m, and positioned on top of the press
slide frames. |

Diesel Engine Installation - A 600t hydraulic
gantry with its 24m twin beam header system hoists a 240t diesel engine
into place. Seven of these 240t engines were lifted into position for
the project. |

Printing Press Installation -
Vanguard installed nine Man Roland Uniset towers for Media24. Each tower
consisted of two half decks, walkways, rollers, and folders, and weighed
approximately 22t. The towers were craned onto a pre-assembled platform on
the first floor, rigged in sideways, placed on rails and traversed down the
length of the hall. Hydraulic gantries then lifted them into final position
on press slabs. |

Transformer – Vanguard transported and delivered a 60t
transformer and 45t rectifier to a power station in Mozambique. In
addition to the use of its hydraulic gantries, the company also used its
self powered diesel hydraulic power pack – ideal for use in remote
locations – to jack the pieces 1,3m off of the ground and slide onto
lowbed trailers using the jack and slide method. |

Injection Moulder Installation
– Vanguard used its hydraulic gantries to offload and position an
injection moulder used for manufacturing bumpers for Toyota. The
injection moulder consisted of three heavy components namely a 50t base
and two 60t side brackets, as well as auxiliary hydraulic parts. |
